Ways to Help

OTHER WAYS TO VOLUNTEER WITH IICD

IICD is located a few miles outside of Williamstown, Massachusetts on300 acres of forest land in the Berkshires. In this beautiful physical setting you will find people of many nationalities and from many different walks of life, who have all come with a desire to develop the world and develop themselves. In this international learning community there is plenty of room for any one who wishes to volunteer in one way or another. If you have a skill or knowledge that you would like to share. If you likeworking with people or doing something practical with your hands, we welcome you to join us at IICD.

A few things you can do here in order to set the imagination rolling:
  • Cook for around 50 people on a daily basis and teach others to cook.
  • Like painting? Bring your brushes and canvas and inspire everyone with your passion and pass your skills on to others.
  • Do IT work in IICD promotion center, where we inform people about the programs.
  • Landscaping and agriculture! There are plenty of possibilities to start vegetable production, orchards, keeping small animals establishing new learning opportunities for the participants here.
  • Building and maintenance. The 7 buildings here are comfortable but old and in need of a caring hand. We do the work ourselves and can surely need volunteer instructors both permanently and periodically.
  • Have a skill or knowledge you like to share? There are always people here eager to learn. Whether we talk about languages, practical skills, cooking, health issues, international issues, life experiences or leisure activities.
  • Sports enthusiast? Teach volunteers to coach a sport so they can bring this ability to where they will be working abroad. We have an outdoor basketball court, a fitness room, a swimming pool and plenty of out-door space.
  • Travel around in grand United States to put up posters about IICD'sprograms.
  • Networking and fundraising. As a nonprofit, IICD is in constant need of more funds to implement our programs. All participants in the programs pay tuition and do extensive fundraising as an integrated part of the program. To make it possible for people to join, even though they do not have the money to pay for the tuition, funds for scholarships and for covering the expenses of running the place, are needed. In this endeavor, volunteers are needed to take part in outreach activities, networking and fundraising.

You can also volunteer by:

  • Becoming a Friend of IICD, sending regular contributions and receiving our Newsletter.
  • Giving a place to sleep to our volunteers when they are out fundraising.
  • Providing a teaching practice opportunity for a week for a volunteer in training.
  • Donating food, services, materials and other items to IICD.

As you can see there are plenty of possibilities.Contact us if you are interested, and together we will tailor make a volunteer position that fits the person you are.

You can be a volunteer for any period of time.

From a few hours every week, to moving in on a long term basis.
